FUNDRAISING T-SHIRT AND JEANS DAY

All of our Wednesday fundraising days are indicated on the school calendar with a box. The next fundraising day is Wednesday, September 15 and all proceeds will go to support the National Honor Society at Emmanuel. Students may wear any ECA apparel with jeans for $1 or joggers for $2. Thank you for your support of the NHS!

COVID-19

Emmanuel continues to evaluate the current conditions with COVID-19, as well as the prevalence of other illnesses that are easily transmitted between students and adults. We will continue to evaluate on a weekly basis to ensure the safety of our students and staff. Based upon the current trends in our building as well as state and county wide trends, we have made the following adjustments:

  • New Wellness Plan - as initiated on September 3, 2021

  • Remote learning at grade levels that have been most affected

Additional actions that will begin on Monday, September 13, 2021 follows:

MASKS (GRADES TK-4): Due to the extreme contagious nature of many of the viruses and colds (including COVID) and the amount of students that have been impacted on the elementary level, we are mandating masks for the TK - 4th grade students. Teachers will be able to provide mask breaks as they see fit, and the students will not be required to wear masks during outdoor recess.

MASKS (GRADES 5-12): We are strongly encouraging students to wear masks. We are not mandating at this time. If a student has a negative COVID test, but is experiencing symptoms of another virus, such as coughing, they will be asked to wear a mask for airborne and droplet precautions until the symptom is resolved. Our goal is to keep our students in the classroom.

MASKS (TEACHERS/STAFF)

  • TK - 4th grade teachers: Masking required for any contact that is less than 3 feet from a student

  • 5th - 12th grade teachers: recommend wearing a mask for any contact that is less than 3 feet from a student

  • Teachers do not need to maintain masking all day, but should be mindful of distancing with all students and staff.

  • Teachers who are meeting and having lunch together will need to maintain distancing at a minimum of 3 feet at all times. Larger meetings will need to take place via Google Meet or in person only when able to distance accordingly.

  • Food service/cafeteria workers: Masks are required at all times while serving breakfast or lunch to students

  • Admin/Office: Masks are recommended when a distance of 3 feet or more is not attainable while working with a student or co-workers.

Additional items that will be added to Clinic and Building Protocol:

  • If a student is symptomatic and has had a negative COVID test, they will be required to wear a mask until their symptoms are resolved. If the student presents to the clinic with symptoms and has not yet been tested for COVID, the student will be asked to wear a mask in the clinic and/or front waiting area until the parent arrives for pick-up.

Please let us know if you have any questions. Continue to pray for the Emmanuel Family. Thank you and have a great weekend!

Blessings,

Dan Moore, Building Principal
John Essig, Superintendent
