Parent Communication 09/25/2025

Parents,

We have had an exciting and successful start of the school year. It is already moving along quickly. With the end of the first term quickly approaching, I would like to provide a few updates and reminders:

Foundational Fridays

I am very encouraged about the content that we have been able to cover on our professional development time that we have started this year on Fridays. So far we have already been able to dive into:

  • Student testing data dive

  • Security/Safety areas

  • Biblical Integration

  • ACSI Accreditation

  • Grade level and department level collaboration

  • Executive Functioning (helping our students to be more successful)

We will continue to add areas that will help us be more effective as leaders, mentors, and Christians. Since the day is shortened, it is imperative that students arrive on time and are ready to start class at 8:45. One area of improvement that I would like to see on Fridays is to have all students here on time and not tardy. As a reminder, students are permitted to arrive at our normal drop off time of 7:30.

Parent/Student- Teacher Conferences

As you prepare for this year’s conferences, we would like to begin to shift toward conferences that include our students being present. We would encourage participation in the conference for as young as third grade and especially for students who are fifth through twelfth grade.

There is a strong correlation that has been shown between student success as they take more responsibility for their learning. In addition, conferences which include students help to foster parent, teacher and student relationships which is important for collaborative goal setting and problem solving.

We would like to strongly encourage you to bring your student to conferences this year!

Dismissal: Picking up your child

Thank you all for your diligence and safe driving during pick up. Please remember to:

  • Drive slow in the school zone

    • Be careful through the crosswalk zones

    • Be mindful of students and parents crossing the street

  • Please stay in the appropriate lanes

    • Two lanes closest to the building are for TK-4th grade

    • Two lanes in the second are are for 5th-12th

  • Please do not leave your car to retrieve your kids if you are in the pick up zones

    • If you would like to walk up and pick up your kids then please use the parking lot

  • Be patient and safe! The whole process is usually complete by 3:20!

Wednesday: Jean and Jogger Days

Families are encouraged to check our school calendar on our website for designated Wednesdays for Jean and Joggers. Normal student dress code is expected on other Wednesdays.
