On Tuesday of this week, 28 students in grades 2-6 competed in the first annual ECA Elementary Spelling Bee.
At the completion for grades 2-3, after 23 rounds, Brody Walls was declared the winner. Second place went to Avery Craycraft, and Oliver Baldauff came in third.
The competition for grades 4-6, after 20 rounds, was won by Mason Veskauf, with Alivia Ervine taking second and Karson Collins taking third place.
ECA plans to continue this annual competition in future years, with the hopes of adding seventh and eighth grade students.
