Butler Springs High School Retreat

Two days away from the usual school routine offers a wonderful opportunity to build friendships, serve together and grow in faith. ECA students in grades 9–12 are invited to our overnight retreat at Butler Springs Christian Camp on Thursday and Friday, November 5–6, 2026.

Students will participate in team-building activities, service projects, ziplining, worship, Bible study, devotions and sermons. SGA will organize the activities, and ECA staff will chaperone the retreat.

Permission Forms, Waiver and Payment

The retreat costs $55 per student. Please complete the required permission form and waiver by Friday, October 23. Final payment is due Friday, October 30.

All students in grades 9–12 are eligible to attend. Students who do not participate are required to attend school.

Departure and Return

Thursday, November 5

  • Students must arrive at ECA no later than 8:00 a.m.

  • Buses will depart at approximately 9:00 a.m.

  • Lunch and dinner will be provided.

Friday, November 6

  • Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

  • Buses are expected to return to ECA by approximately 2:30 p.m.

  • Students may leave once they have returned to ECA.

Retreat Guidelines

To help everyone enjoy a safe and positive retreat, students must follow these expectations:

  • Stay in groups of at least three. Do not wander off alone.

  • Be at the announced location when activities begin.

  • Lights out is midnight. Students must remain inside their cabins after lights out.

  • No pranks and practical jokes.

  • Phones are permitted for music and photos. Respect others’ privacy, and do not photograph or record students who do not want to be included.

What to Pack

  • Toiletries and a towel

  • An extra pair of shoes

  • Bug spray

  • A flashlight

  • A sleeping bag and pillow

  • A garbage bag for dirty clothes

  • Layered clothing for outdoor activities and cold nights

  • A water bottle

  • Snacks

  • A Bible

Dress Guidelines

Bring layers suitable for outdoor activities, including sweatshirts, T-shirts, joggers and shorts. Plan for cold nighttime temperatures.

Leggings may be worn underneath other clothing but may not be worn on their own.
